This set of tools includes a number of strange devices that, in some cases, seem to exist in more than just the usual amount of dimensions.
A wizard who owns these tools can use them to inscribe a spell in their spellbook in half the normal amount of time and without the normal expense.
In order to maintain these tools, their owner must fit 25 gold coins into a slot in the top of what appears to be two small cubes fused together for every spell level that they wish to copy.
